These services are operated by Kestrel Insights Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17310900 (“we”, “our”, “us”). This Cookie Notice explains how we use cookies and similar technologies when you use Kestrel, Strix, our website, applications, APIs, dashboards, reports, and related services (collectively, the “Service”).

This Cookie Notice should be read together with our Privacy Notice and Terms of Use. It is intended to comply with the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (“PECR”), the UK General Data Protection Regulation (“UK GDPR”), and the Data Protection Act 2018.

▸1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — such as local storage, session storage, pixels, and software development kits — perform comparable functions. In this notice, we refer to all of these collectively as “cookies”. Cookies may be set by us (“first-party cookies”) or by third parties that provide services on our behalf (“third-party cookies”).

▸2. Categories of Cookies We Use

We use only the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the Service to function, including security, network management, and load balancing. These cannot be switched off in our systems.
  • Authentication and session cookies — used to sign you in, keep you signed in, and protect your account. These are provided by our authentication provider (Clerk) and are essential to operating the gated parts of the Service.

We do not currently use analytics, advertising, tracking, or other non-essential cookies, and we do not operate a cookie-consent banner because the cookies we use are strictly necessary. If we introduce non-essential cookies in future, we will update this notice and, where required by law, obtain your consent beforehand.

▸3. Why We Use Cookies

We use cookies solely to operate and secure the Service, to authenticate users and maintain sessions, and to maintain the reliability and performance of the platform. We do not use cookies for advertising or for third-party analytics.

▸4. Third-Party Cookies

Our authentication and identity provider, Clerk, may set cookies that are necessary to sign you in and secure your account. These are processed in accordance with Clerk’s own privacy and cookie policies. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

▸5. Legal Basis

The cookies we use are strictly necessary or essential to provide a service you have requested, and therefore do not require consent under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). If we introduce non-essential cookies in future, we will rely on your consent where required, which you may withdraw at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

▸6. Managing Your Cookie Preferences

You can control and manage cookies in several ways:

  • Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Please refer to your browser’s help documentation.
  • You can clear cookies already stored on your device at any time.
  • You can set your browser to notify you when cookies are being set.

Please note that disabling strictly necessary or authentication cookies may prevent parts of the Service — including signing in and accessing analytical tools — from working correctly.

▸7. Changes to This Cookie Notice

We may update this Cookie Notice from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our practices. The “Last Updated” date above indicates when this notice was most recently revised. We encourage you to review it periodically.
